In this set
of photo's I am trying to mimic the style of conceptual portraiture done by
Natsumi Hayashi. Natsumi Hayashi is amazed with the perception of time. She
started taking pictures of people levitating in her photos because to her it
made it seem as though time had slowed down in the frame. I tried to mimic her
style by using less colorful backgrounds to make it so my models who are
levitating stand out more. I also tried to make my series as similar as i could
to Natsumi's photos by using similar backgrounds such as the man levitating
next to the parking meter.
Good job Josh. You did an especially good job clearly describing who you're influenced by and what you're attempting to emulate. I think the fourth shot is really strong, because there are other elements outside of just levitation.
ReplyDeleteThese pictures are really interesting. I like your second photo because Max is doing something and levitating. In your other photos, he is just sort of there levitating. I think you should incorporate some more actions in your next draft.
ReplyDeleteI think that the shots of Max doing an everyday activity while levitating adds to the realistic quality of the photo. I think this is something you should consider and capitalize on.
ReplyDeletethis is good work josh. I think you did a good job of giving the image that the model was levitating. i especially like the one in the alley way
ReplyDeletenice photos. especially the last one.
ReplyDeleteNice photos Josh. I think you definitely expanded off of your first draft and your progress most definitely shows in this series. I especially like your second photo because I think it depicts your photographers work the best. The placement and clarity of the photo makes it seem very realistic and intriguing.
ReplyDeleteYou really succeeded in capturing moments that look normal while the subject is levitating. I particularly like the mailbox picture because it looks very natural.
